Mary Young serves as both the CCC athletics director and head coach of the volleyball team.

As athletic director, Young possesses a wealth of leadership experience having served in several capacities with the NJCAA and Region 9 in policy, procedures, sanctions and legislation. She is a past president of the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association and two-year college board representative for the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Young currently serves as the women's senior administrator for the NJCAA after previously serving Region 9 as the assistant director, region director and inaugural NJCAA Board of Regents member.

As CCC volleyball head coach, Young has led the Raiders to 14 Region 9 championships and 17 Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference championships while compiling a record of 757-403. She has led the Raiders to 12 NJCAA national tournaments, finishing 10 times in the top 10. Young has coached 97 All-Conference players, 90 All-Region performers, 25 All-Americans and three American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans. Additionally, 87 of the athletes she coached earned NJCAA academic awards since 1997. Young was named NCCAC Coach of the Year 14 times and Region 9 Coach of the Year 13 times and was selected as the AVCA West Region Coach of the Year in 2002, 2008, and 2011.

A native of Arcadia, Neb., Young earned her associate of arts degree from CCC-Columbus, a bachelor of science degree in recreation from the University of South Dakota and a master of science degree in counseling-student affairs from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She and her husband Joel have two children, Kaden and Gabbi.
