At Central Community College, we are committed to the health, safety, and performance of every student-athlete. Our Athletic Training Department plays a vital role in supporting student-athletes through every stage of their athletic experience—from injury prevention and emergency care to rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols.
All athletic training services at CCC are provided in partnership with Columbus Community Hospital (CCH). Our Certified Athletic Trainers (ATs) are contracted through CCH and are on campus daily to provide consistent, professional medical care to our athletes.

Our Athletic Training Services Include:
· On-site injury evaluation and treatment

· Return-to-play assessments and rehabilitation guidance
· Emergency injury response during practices and home competitions
We believe that great care goes beyond treating injuries. Our athletic training and sports medicine team focuses on maximizing performance, preventing injury, and supporting overall athlete wellness.
Pre-Participation Physical Requirement
Before participating in any team activity, all student-athletes must complete a Pre-Participation Physical Exam. (Physical Form)
This ensures each athlete is medically cleared and prepared for practice, conditioning, and competition.
Insurance Requirements
Central Community College encourages all student-athletes to have primary insurance coverage before their first day of practice. The athletic insurance at Central Community College provides SECONDARY coverage for student-athletes involved in injuries while participating in the play or official team practice of intercollegiate sports. The policy is designed to cover costs not paid by the student-athletes or athlete’s parents’ primary insurance.
Understanding Injury Costs & Insurance
Injuries are an unfortunate but realistic part of athletics. Whether they occur during practice, competition, or conditioning, the medical billing process can be complex. To help student-athletes and families better understand how costs and coverage work, we've developed a helpful resource: (Understanding Costs and Insurance for Sports Injuries at CCC)
