Golf: Raiders Win a Windy Quad

The Central Community College golf team claimed the top spot in a quad at Elks Country Club in Columbus. Temperatures were in the 60s, but strong winds affected play for all of the squads.

The Raiders claimed the victory with a team score of 321, followed by Northeast Community College at 332. Union College took 3rd place with a 350, while Doane JV finished with a 365.

Individually, CCC was led by Jon Luckey (pictured) with a score of 75. Nathan Grossnicklaus was four strokes back at 79, while Colten Remm tallied an 81. Kaleb Lusche finished the day with an 86.

"I'm very pleased with the efforts of Jon Luckey and Nate Grossnicklaus, who persevered under extremely inclement weather to post outstanding scores," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell. "I would like to have had more favorable weather conditions so that all of the teams could have had the best showing possible."

The Raiders will return to Elks Country Club on Monday to host the Storm of Southeast Community College and the Spartans of Southwestern Iowa Community College. Tee time is set for 12:30 p.m.
