Golf: CCC Takes 8th at Mount Marty Invitational

The Central Community College golf team participated in the Mount Marty Invitational on Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The first day proved challenging from a weather standpoint as the teams sloshed through 18 holes of running and standing water due to continuous rain at Yankton's Hillcrest Golf Club. Nathan Grossnicklaus (pictured), and Colten Remm led the scoring, with each golfer finishing with an 85.

Tuesday started as another dreary day, this time at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. However, the sun eventually came out and provided a lift. The CCC golf team responded by reducing the previous day's total score by 23 strokes, finishing with a combined score of 321. The Raiders tied for fourth place on the day out of 13 teams. Grossnicklaus again topped the CCC leader board with a 77, followed closely by Colten Remm with an 80 and Caden Remm with an 81. Rounding out the top four was Marshall Dreifurst, who posted an 83. For the two-day event, the Raiders finished in 8th place with a total of 665 strokes.

CCC will return to the course on Monday, Oct. 2, at the Southeast Community College tournament at the York Country Club.
