Golf: CCC Bests Mount Marty

The Central Community College golf team posted its lowest score in almost two years in a season-opening victory over Mount Marty College at Elks Country Club in Columbus. On a picture-perfect Wednesday afternoon, CCC finished with a team score of 310 to the Lancers' 320.

Freshman Colten Remm (pictured) led the Raiders in scoring with a 74, which was followed by his twin brother, Caden Remm, who carded a 75. Sophomore Marshall Dreifurst scored an 80, while freshman Nathan Grossnicklaus tallied an 81.

"I'm very happy with the results," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell. "The boys were anxious to compete as a team and see how they would do against other college golfers. They are determined to get even better as we continue our preparation for the Nebraska Intercollegiate Championship coming up in early October."

The Raiders will be back at Elks Country Club on Friday, Sept. 8, to host a triangular with York College and Southwest Community College of Iowa. Tee time is set for 1 p.m.
