Volleyball: Raiders Sweep Knights

The Central Community College volleyball team defeated by North Platte Community College, 3-0, on Thursday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The Raiders dominated the first set, winning 25-15. CCC saw a much closer second set, but were able to hold off the Knights, 21-25. North Platte gave its best effort in the last set, but CCC was able to ward off a late run with a 25-23 victory, completing the Raider sweep.

The CCC Volleyball team collectively had a whooping 73 digs with Maleigha Johnson leading with 23. Josie Bentz tallied 10 kills and Libbie Ball had 34 assists.

"I felt we controlled the match with our ball control from start to finish," CCC head coach Mary Young said. "Our defenders kept a lot of balls in play which ignited our offense. I'm proud of our effort and execution."

The Raiders move to 15-13 and are in action this Saturday vs. Iowa Western Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College.
