Volleyball: Raiders Spoil Knights’ Night

The Central Community College volleyball team won its sixth match in a row with a 3-1 victory at North Platte Community College on Thursday.

The Knights took the first set, 26-24, which the Raiders answered with an identical 26-24 victory in the second set. CCC won the match with wins in the third and four game, 27-25 and 25-21.

"We didn't play really clean against North Platte and let frustration get the best of us at times, but I was proud of how we fought through and found a way to win," said CCC head coach Mary Young.

Lauryn Scott led the Raiders in kills with 14 while Katee Korte finished with a dozen. Libbie Ball dished out 44 assists and Ali Miller was tops in digs with 25.

With the win, CCC is 10-3 on the season and wraps a successful venture with wins over McCook and North Platte.

"I am feeling extremely fortunate to complete the road trip out west with two wins," said Young.

The Raiders will stay on the road for Wednesday's match at Southeast Community College. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
