Volleyball: 2023 Signees Announced

Central Community College volleyball has signed nine new players for the 2023 season. A brief summary of each player is below. The Raiders will open the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Aug. 19, by hosting a tri-meet with Southwestern Community College and Cloud County Community College.

Libbie Ball (Palmyra Junior-Senior High School, specialist): Ball set the school record for single game assists with 59. She tallied 1,600 assists, 552 digs, 139 aces and 84 kills during her high school career. Ball was twice named Third Team All-East Central Nebraska Conference and earned second team honors. She also earned all-state honors three times. Ball will be an academic transfer at CCC. She is the daughter of Jessica Ball and Joshua Burnett.

Maddie Baxa (Sutton High School, defensive specialist): Baxa helped lead the Mustangs to a 22-7 record during her senior campaign. She also participated in basketball and track and field. Baxa will be an academic transfer at CCC. She is the daughter of Randy and Andrea Reed of Sutton.

Bailey Beal (Randolph Public High School, middle blocker): Beal recorded 266 kills and finished with an 81.4 serve percentage in her four years with the Cardinals. She earned All-Lewis & Clark Conference honors for three years and made the honor roll twice. She also participated in track and field at Randolph. Beal will be a pharmacy technician major at CCC. She is the daughter of Danny and Sara Beal.

Josie Bentz (Lakeview High School, middle blocker): Bentz posted a .283 attack efficiency throughout her Lakeview career, which is a school record. She also totaled 700 kills, 164 blocks and 51 aces. Bentz was named First Team All-Central Conference and All-State Honorable Mention by the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal-Star. She also earned all-state academic honors. Bentz will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Don and Michelle Bentz.

Tatum Kepustka (Loup City Public School, outside hitter): Kepustka finished her four-year career with the Red Raiders with 208 digs and 33 blocks. She also sported an 80.4 serve percentage and a 23.5 kill percentage. Kapustka earned First Team All-LouPlatte Conference and Honorable Mention during her career and received honorable mention honors from the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal-Star and the Grand Island Independent. Kapustka will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Tony and Melissa Kapustka.

Anadia McKimmey (Gordon-Rushville High School, middle and outside hitter): McKimmey amassed 364 service aces and a 92.3 serving percentage to go along with 106 kills and 41 blocks. She earned all-state honors as a sophomore and All-Western Trails Conference Honorable Mention during her sophomore and junior campaigns. McKimmey will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Shawn and Jessica McKimmey.

Ali Miller (Ord High School, libero): Miller helped lead the Chanticleers to a 20-12 record in 2022 and finished her career with 932 digs and 126 aces. She earned First Team All-LouPlatte Conference and Honorable Mention honors and was twice named academic all-state. Miller will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Marty and Carri Miller.

Lauryn Scott (Adams Central High School, middle-right hitter): Scott totaled 691 kills, 590 digs, 198 blocks and 49 assists during her career with the Patriots. As a senior, she was named Second Team All-Central Conference, academic all-state, Second Team All-Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal-Star Honorable Mention. Scott will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Shawn and Caryn Scott.

Liv Swanson (Auburn High School, outside hitter): Swanson tallied 825 kills, 686 digs, 125 aces, 105 blocks and a .91 serve percentage throughout her career with the Bulldogs. She was named First Team All-East Central Nebraska Conference as a senior and was invited to play in the Southeast Nebraska All-Star Game. Swanson will be a nursing major at CCC. She is the daughter of Clint and Kristine Swanson.

"We believe we have the right mix of talent and hardworking individuals who will make an impact on our program. We are looking forward to August and we're eager to get our team to campus and start working toward our goals."
