Volleyball: MCC Needs Five Games To Beat CCC

The Central Community College volleyball team lost at McCook Community College, 3-2, on Wednesday night.

The Raiders opened the match with a 25-21 victory in the first game, which was answered by the Indians in the second game, 25-17. MCC went up 2-1 with a 25-19 win in the third set. CCC tied the match with a 25-11 triumph in the fourth game. In the decisive fifth set, the Indians held on for an 18-16 victory to take match.

Devyn Erickson led the Raiders in kills with 18, while Lydia Permenter added 13 and Bailer Lehr chipped in 11. Rylee Kwapnioski tallied 39 assists. Kamri Adler finished with 29 digs, while Permenter posted 22.

Despite the loss, CCC head coach Abby Pollart remains positive.

"We saw some great things," said Pollart. "Our defense and blocking were really solid. It was a fun match and we grew a lot." 

The loss drops the Raiders to 8-9.
