
For the sixth consecutive year, the Central Community College volleyball team is heading for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament following a pair of wins over the North Dakota State College of Science. The national tournament will take place at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, WV, Nov. 17-19.
Match 1 vs. NDSCS
The Wildcats gave it their all in a five-set match with the Raiders in opening round play. CCC took the first two sets – 25-17, 25-22 – before NDSCS even the score in sets 3 and 4 – 25-21, 25-22. The Raiders won the decisive set, 15-10.
Chainey Tompkin led CCC in kills with 16, while Amber Anderson and Maeghan Pieper each chipped in a dozen. Riley Dorn totaled 49 assists, while Lexi Holland finished with 17 digs.
Match 2 vs. NDSCS
The Raiders punched their ticket to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament with shutout victory over the Wildcats – 25-21, 25-11, 25-23.
Pieper tallied 10 kills, Dorn recorded 29 assists and Sydney Yong added 16 digs.
