The Central Community College Volleyball team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over Hastings College JV. The Raiders defeated the Colts in the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-21. Hastings then took the third set, 25-17, before CCC closed out the night, 25-14.

A trio of freshman had great first outings as Chainey Tompkin and Maeghan Pieper each tallied nine kills, while Amber Anderson chipped in with eight. Sophomore setter Riley Dorn finished the night with 38 assists and 12 digs.

The victory gives the Raiders a 1-0 mark on the season as they prepare for the Johnson County Community College Kickoff in Overland Park, Kansas. CCC will battle Ottawa University JV at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, followed by Cowley County Community College at 6 p.m. The tournament continues on Saturday.
