Women’s Soccer: CCC Holds Off Hesston

The Central Community College women's soccer team won at Hesston College, 2-1, on Saturday.

The Larks scored first as Kira Kumada found the back of the net off the assist of Cheyenne Blaser for a 1-0 lead. The Raiders got on the board 10 minutes later when Ellie Bates scored a goal with Mathilde Holm-Kriste and Talia Gisonni combined for the assist. The 1-1 tie held through halftime.

The scoring went dormant until the 70th minute when CCC's Holm-Kriste made the game-winning goal off the assist of Jada Cohn and the Raiders held on for the 2-1 victory. When all was said and done, CCC held Hesston scoreless for 75 minutes.

CCC goalies Kaya Knapke and Thalia Tenney each played 45 minutes in goal with Tenney making one save.

With the win, the Raiders are 5-8-1 on the season.
