Men's Soccer: Home Opener Success

The Central Community College men's soccer team defeated Dakota Technical College, 5-2, on Thursday afternoon at Raider Field.

This was the season home opener for the Raiders and they did not disappoint. Jackson Twizerimana, Freshman from KC, opened the scoring with a nice goal assisted by Xander Shepherd. Xander wanted in on the action and got the next goal himself with a nicely placed ball assisted by Donovan Williams. The Raiders ended the first half with a goal from Jackson Twizerimana assisted by Alfredo Fierro, Giving Jackson 2 goals himself, ending the first half 3-0.

The Raiders were not as dominant in the 2nd, splitting the 2nd half 2-2. Eduardo Garcia and Arlo Stone both contributed goals for the Raiders, with assists by Alfredo Fierro and Tomas Estrada

Quote from Head Coach Luis Pulido: "For a first match, I think we got a lot of important takeaways, both positive and negative. I am looking forward to seeing how we can adjust and improve as the season goes on."

The Men's Soccer team picks up their first home win, moving to 1-0 on the season.
