Golf: Raiders Compete at Tatanka GC
The Central Community College golf team participated in the Mount Marty Tatanaka Invitational at Tatanka Golf Club in Niobrara on Monday and Tuesday.
The conditions on day one were very difficult with 25-40 MPH winds. Jude Elgert and Spencer Knispel posted scores of 83 and 81, respectively. Individually, Elgert was in sixth place and Knispel was in ninth place. Despite the good showing, the CCC did not match its play from day one and struggled.
Knispel shot a 166 to finish the tournament 16th overall while Elgert posted a 168, good for 19th overall. The team finished fifth place out of six teams.
"I loved to see the drive from Jude and Spencer on day one through those tough conditions. Our 3-5 struggled greatly on the golf side as well as the mental side," head coach Sam Elgert said. "On day two, we did not have our best golf and we let ourselves get past by teams we were capable of beating. We need to improve in spots going forward."
Raiders will be back on the green on Friday and Saturday at Lochland Country Club in Hastings.
