Men’s Basketball: Raiders Post Sophomore Day Win

The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated Western Iowa Tech, 100-62, on Saturday at the Raider Fieldhouse.

Before the game, six CCC sophomore players were honored. They were Blake Daberkow, PJ Davis, Aidan Graham, Xavier Kadous, Ashton LaPointe and Jed Walford.

In the first half, the Raiders took command with a 15-0 run over a span of four-and-a-half minutes for a 30-12 lead. CCC would go on to lead 59-36 at the half. The Raiders' defense clamped down in the second and held the Comets to 26 points en route to the 38-point victory.

"This was one of our more complete games of the season," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "We defended well, shared the ball and took great shots. It always feels good to get a win on Sophomore Day."

Kazadi Mukoma Jr. (pictured, #10) led all scorers with 27 points off the bench while Daberkow posted 20 points. Davis scored 17 points and Frank Keller logged a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kamron Kasischke finished with 10 points.

The Raiders are 16-10 on the season and will host their final home game of the regular season on Monday night. The Concordia University JV is the opponent and tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
