The Central Community College men's basketball team posted road wins over Hastings College JV and York University JV on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
The Raiders defeated Hastings JV, 70-57, as Derek Merwick led CCC in scoring with 18 points. Trey Deveaux was right behind with 17 points. The next night, the Raiders held off York JV, 79-69. PJ Davis was tops for CCC with 21 points while Merwick and Jayden Byabato each scored 15 points.
"We have not been in a very good rhythm offensively the past few games, but it's always good to be on the winning side," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "Derek has been solid, and Jayden is making lots of plays on the defensive end. I have been quite pleased with PJ's progress throughout the season. He has been playing well lately."
The Raiders are 13-6 on the season and will remain on the road for a Saturday meeting at Southeast Community College. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
