Caitlin Simon is in her sixth year at Central Community College, where she had an outstanding career on the softball team from 2012 to 2014.
CCC is coming off some of the most successful season in program history. Simon led the 2022-23 Raiders to their first Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference (NCCAC) title and 31 wins, the most single-season victories. The Raiders also won the Region 9 championship, their second consecutive in 2022-2023.
Simon is a two-time Region 9 Coach of the Year and earned her first NCCAC Coach of the Year award in 2023. She recruited and coached CCC’s first two-time NJCAA All-American, coached 20 All-Region 9 performers and 40 student-athletes who earned NJCAA academic honors.
As a player at CCC, Simon was named All-NCCAC, All-Region 9, Region 9 All-Tournament, NCCAC All-Academic and Region 9 All-Academic. She also played on the Raiders basketball team.
After graduating from CCC with an associate of arts degree, she continued her collegiate softball career at Wayne State College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2016.
During the 2016-17 academic year, Simon served as an assistant coach for CCC softball and basketball before returning to Wayne State to pursue a master’s degree in organizational management in sport. She served as a graduate assistant in the department of health, human performance and sport and as an assistant softball coach at Wayne High School, where she helped lead the Blue Devils to a state title in 2018.
She and her husband Sam reside in Columbus and have three boys, Brooks (4), and Baylor and Bryson who were born in 2024.
