Volleyball: CCC Splits at CCCC Tri-Meet

The Central Community College volleyball team went 1-1 at a tri-meet hosted by Cloud County (Kan.) Community College. A recap of each match is below. The Raiders are 19-8 and will return to action on Thursday with a home match against Southeast Community College. The first serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Raider Fieldhouse.

Match 1 vs. Cloud County (Kan.) Community College

The Raiders faced the hometown T-Birds to open the tri-meet, and CCC won the first match, 25-21. Cloud County evened the match, 1-1, with a 25-20 victory in the second set. The Raiders took the match with wins in the third and fourth set, 25-19 and 25-18.

Josie Bentz and Chelsea Fisher led the attack with 12 kills apiece while Libbie Ball distributed 43 assists. Ali Miller led CCC in digs with 18.

CCC's 3-1 victory over the T-Birds matched CCC's 3-1 win over CCCC in August at the Raider Fieldhouse.

Match 2 vs. Cowley (Kan.) College

The Tigers swept the Raiders, 3-0, by the final scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-13.

Bentz made five kills while Lauryn Scott totaled four. Ball dished out 15 assists and Halie Kaslon finished with 10 digs.
