Volleyball: Raiders Bounce Bobcats

The 15th-ranked Central Community College volleyball team defeated Southeast Community College, 3-1, on Wednesday at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The Raiders were poised for a shutout victory when they won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-22. However, the Bobcats won the third game, 25-23. CCC rebounded in the fourth set, 25-14, to win the match.

Chelsea Fisher led the attack with 15 kills while Katee Korte logged 10 kills and 23 digs. Libbie Ball delivered 41 assists. Ali Miller tallied 26 digs and four aces while Lauryn Scott made five assisted blocks and three solo blocks.

"It's always good to get a region win at home," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "We really let our errors get the best of us in set three and as a result we ended up losing. I was happy with our ability to play more focused in the fourth set to get the win."

The Raiders are 18-7 heading into Friday's tri-meet at Cloud County (Kan.) Community College. CCC will take on the hometown T-Birds at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. meeting with Cowley County (Kan.) Community College.
