Volleyball: Pinnacle Bank/Raider Classic Recap

The CCC volleyball team went 3-1 at the Pinnacle Bank/Raider Classic at the Raider Fieldhouse. A recap of each match is below. The Raiders are 17-7 on the season and will host Southeast Community College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Match 1 vs. Dakota (N.D.) College at Bottineau

The Raiders shutout the Ladyjacks, 3-0, in opening round action. The final scores were 25-11, 25-9 and 25-20. Katee Korte led CCC in kills with nine while Josie Bentz posted eight kills and five blocks. Libbie Ball dished out 32 assists. Ali Miller recorded 13 digs and five aces.

Match 2 vs. Neosho County (Kan.) Community College

The Panthers appeared to be headed for a sweep when they went up 2-0 over the Raiders with victories in the first two games, 25-22 and 26-24. CCC avoided the sweep when they took the third game, 25-13. However, Neosho County won the match with a 28-26 victory in the fourth set for a 3-1 victory. Korte and Lauryn Scott tallied 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Miller finished with 51 assists and Miller totaled 16 digs.

Match 3 vs. Kansas City Kansas Community College

The Blue Devils gave the Raiders quite a battle to open the second day of the Pinnacle Bank/Raider Classic, but in the end, CCC posted a 3-0 victory. The final scores read 26-24, 30-28 and 25-21. Korte and Liv Swanson each recorded 10 kills while Ball finished with 40 assists. Halie Kaslon topped CCC with 20 digs and Scott made six assisted blocks and a solo block.

Match 4 vs. Allen County (Kan.) Community College

The Raiders and Red Devils went a full five games before CCC won the match, 3-2. Allen County won the first two games by the final scores of 25-11 and 25-17. The Raiders tied the contest, 2-2, when they were victorious in the third game, 25-12, and the fourth game, 25-17. In the decisive fifth set, CCC outlasted Allen County, 17-15. Chelsea Fisher led the Raiders in kills with 18 while Ball amassed 50 assists and 18 digs.
