Volleyball: Iowa Central Tournament Recap

The Central Community College volleyball team went 3-1 at the Iowa Central Tournament in Fort Dodge, Iowa. A brief recap of each match is below. The Raiders are now 16-16 on the season. CCC is back at Raider Fieldhouse on Thursday to host North Platte Community College. The match starts at 7 p.m.

Match 1 vs. Iowa Central Community College

The host Tritons shutout the Raiders in the opening round, 3-0. The final scores were 25-19, 25-23, and 25-23.

Abbe Mancuso and Maddie Walkowiak each recorded eight kills, while Rylee Kwapnioski dished out 18 assists. Kamri Adler was tops in digs with 14.

Match 2 vs. North Iowa Area Community College

The Raiders swept the Trojans in second round action, 3-0. The final scores read 25-14, 25-15 and 27-25.

Shania Borchers tallied 11 kills, while Mancuso made 10. Kwapnioski totaled 29 assists, while Adler finished with 24 digs.

Match 3 vs. Williston State College

For the second time this season, the Raiders shutout the Tetons, 3-0. The final scores were 25-21, 25-17 and 25-15. CCC first defeated Williston State at the Northeast Tournament in August.

Mancuso was tops in kills with eight, while Kwapnisoki finished with 30 assists. Lydia Permenter led the Raiders in digs with eight.

Match 4 vs. St. Louis Community College

The Raiders closed out the Iowa Central tournament by shutting out the Archers, 3-0. The final scores read 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21.

Mancuso made nine kills, while Kwapnioski tallied 28 assists. Adler recorded 18 digs.

"We grew a lot this weekend and finished matches well," said CCC head coach Abby Pollart. "It was a big team weekend with everyone making an impact."

Borchers and Mancuso were named to the all-tournament team.
