Volleyball: NPCC Gets Even With CCC

The Central Community College volleyball team lost to North Platte Community College, 3-1, in the fourth match of the Region IX Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Knights won the third match of the tournament with a 3-0 triumph over Southeast Community College in a rematch of non-winners from Friday night.

NPCC won the first two sets over CCC – 25-21, 25-17. The Raiders won the third set, 25-23. The Lady Knights forced a winner-take-all match on Sunday with a 28-26 win in the fourth set.

"We controlled our errors so well on Friday, but were plagued by them on Saturday," said CCC head coach Mary Young. Even so, we still had opportunities in each set.  I will give kudos to North Platte for its play at the net and the ability to control the pass on serve, something they didn't do very well on Friday."

Jacie Laetsch posted 11 kills and 30 digs, while Rylee Kwapnioski logged 46 assists.

The loss gives the Raiders a 19-19 record.
