Volleyball: CCC Posts Shutout Win over Harcum

The Central Community College volleyball team bounced back in the NJCAA Division II national tournament with a 3-0 win over Harcum College.

The Raiders seemed to have an easy time taming the Bears as the final scores read 25-14, 25-13, 25-15.

Chainey Tompkin led CCC in kills with 11, while Paxton Throne recorded 29 assists. Jacie Laetsch tallied 11 digs.

"It was good to bounce back with a win over Harcum," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "Our entire roster played in the match and it was fun for all of them to have the national tournament playing experience. We look forward to our next match with the goal of playing again on Saturday."

CCC won't have to wait long for its next match as it will take place at 3:30 this afternoon and the foe is a familiar face. The Raiders will take on Northeast Community College, which lost in the opening round to Sauk Valley Community College, followed by a win against Carl Sandburg College. The Raiders and the Hawks split two meetings during the regular season, with each team winning at home.
