The Central Community College volleyball team lost to Cowley County Community College, 3-0, in first round action of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II tournament in Charleston, West Virginia.

The final scores read 25-21, 26-24, 25-20.

"We were in all three sets of the match and just didn't make the plays to finish," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "Cowley played great defense and made it difficult for us to get a ball down.  It's not the result we had hoped but our girls played hard. Cowley really played well and is a great team. We intend to bounce back and play hard on Friday."

The Raiders will take on Harcum College of Pennsylvania. The contest gets underway at 12 noon CST and live coverage will be available at www.njcaatv.com.
