Women’s Soccer: Raiders Shut Out Storm

The Central Community College women's soccer team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win at Southeast Community College on Saturday.

Eagan Clark scored CCC's first goal 30 minutes into the contest off the assist of Mathilde Holm-Kistensen for a 1-0 lead. Seven minutes later, Lened Reyes-Estrada made it 2-0 with a goal off the assist of Francesca Wright. The score remained 2-0 through halftime. Clark closed out the scored in the 80th minute when she scored an unassisted goal to complete the 3-0 shutout. CCC netminder Thalia Tenney made a pair of saves.

"Physically, we were aggressive and played well," said CCC head coach Jamie Bennett. "Mentally, I think we made some mistakes that are fixable, and the girls are always eager to learn. It's always nice to get a win no matter how good or bad you play."

The win gives the Raiders a 2-3 season mark heading into Wednesday's road game at Neosho County (Kan.) Community College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
