Women’s Basketball: Hawks Soar By Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost at Northeast Community College, 85-58, on Wednesday night in Norfolk.

The Hawks took command early by outscoring the Raiders 25-8 in the first quarter. Northeast led at the half, 46-24, and held the momentum through the second half.

"It was good to be back on the court and the game started off good, but we felt the impact of have a few weeks off," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "I wish we could have been more competitive toward the end, but in spots we did a good job of playing."

Three CCC players scored in double figures. Monica Brooks led the way with 16 points, while Allanah Beller (pictured) and Bailey Keller scored 10 points apiece.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 6-9 on the season.

Up next, CCC will travel to Yankton, S.D., on Friday to take on Mount Marty College JV. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
