Women's Basketball: Tigers Outlast Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to Doane University JV, 48-44, on Monday night in Crete.

The Tigers took an early lead by taking the first quarter, 17-8. The Raiders had a better showing in the second period and trailed by six at halftime, 28-22. CCC outscored Doane, 13-9, but still trailed by two heading into the fourth period. The final stanza was close and the Raiders had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds left in regulation. However, a missed three-point shot allowed the Tigers to hang on for the four-point victory.

Maddie Davis led the Raiders in scoring with nine points. Day zchay lon Gardner, Averie Miller and Alexis Ramaekers each scored eight points, while Monica Brooks finished with seven points.

With the loss, CCC is now 7-13 on the season.

The Raiders are right back in action with a Tuesday night road clash with York JV. CCC defeated the Panthers back in November at Raider Fieldhouse, 87-77. Tip-off for tonight's game is set for 6 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
