Women’s Basketball: Indians Overtake Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to McCook Community College, 81-57, on Tuesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

The first half was close as the Indians led at halftime, 31-27. In the second half, MCC built a 26-point lead on the strength of a 17-3 run.

"We were kind of sluggish and I think we were ready for Thanksgiving break," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "They had some really good pressure on us and we hadn't seen that all year. We just couldn't get into the flow of the game."

Day zchay lon Gardner was the only CCC player to post double-digit scoring with 12 points. Anna Sanjuan led MCC with 14 points.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 2-6 on the season.

CCC will be back at Raider Fieldhouse for its next contest on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Southwestern Community College is the opponent and tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
