Women’s Basketball: Little Priest Tribal Holds Off CCC

The Central Community College women's basketball team was on the short end of a 67-66 final at Little Priest Tribal College on Valentine's Day night.

The Raiders each of the first three quarters of the game and led 53-49 heading into the fourth period. In that final stanza, the Warriors outscored CCC, 18-13, to get the win.

"We struggled from the field and free throw line all night," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "However, the girls did a good job throughout the game and gave themselves a chance to win."

Four Raiders scored in double figures with Lexie Bacon leading the charge with 17 points. Quenshae Love scored 14 points, while Maddy Wolfe and Payton Blanke each scored 13 points. Wolfe hauled in 10 rebounds for the double-double.

The loss gives CCC a 7-19 season record.

The Raiders have the weekend off and will next play on Wednesday, Feb. 21, when Northeast Community College invades Raider Fieldhouse. CCC will try to avenge an 89-54 Northeast win last month in Norfolk. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
