Women’s Basketball: CCC Snaps Five-Game Slide

The Central Community College women's basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 70-66 home win over North Platte Community College on Friday night.

The first half was close throughout as there was only a one-point difference between the clubs in the first two quarters, with CCC holding a 28-26 halftime advantage. The Raiders got a bit of a cushion in the third quarter when they outscored the Lady Knights, 25-18. In the fourth quarter, NPCC had the upper hand, 22-17, but CCC was able to survive by the four-point margin.

"We played a good game and did a good job playing as a team," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "North Platte made runs at us and we did a good job staying composed and together to get the win. I am very proud of the team and their preparation."

Maddy Wolfe led three players in double figures with 22 points, while Quenshae Love and Lexie Bacon each scored 18 points.

The victory gives the Raiders a mark of 6-18.

On Saturday, CCC returns to Raider Fieldhouse for a 1 p.m. meeting with McCook Community College.
