Women’s Basketball: Hawks Defeat Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost at Northeast Community College, 89-54, on Wednesday night. The loss was CCC's third straight.

The Hawks set the tone early by outscoring the Raiders, 20-9, in the first quarter en route to a 51-28 advantage at halftime. CCC was held to single-digit scoring again in the third quarter when the Northeast defense limited the Raiders to six points. The Hawks shot 55 percent on the night and held CCC to 30 percent shooting.

"Northeast did a great job with ball pressure," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "However, the girls stuck together and continued to play until the end."

Four CCC player scored in double figures with Maddy Wolfe leading the way with 13 points. Quenshae Love scored a dozen points, while Payton Blanke finished with 11 points. Lexie Bacon rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

The loss gives the Raiders a mark of 5-16.
