Women’s Basketball: Tigers Edge the Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball came up one point short to Doane JV as the Tigers took the win, 71-70, on Monday night at Raider Fieldhouse. The loss drops CCC to 3-2 on the season.

Doane outscored CCC in the first three quarters before the Raiders had the advantage in the fourth quarter. However, time ran out and the Tigers secured the one-point victory.

"I was very proud our effort," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "The girls played hard and did a good job staying together."

CCC's Quenshae Love led all scorers with 20 points, while Maddy Wolfe added 16 points. Jada Warner was the final double-digit scorer for the Raiders with 14 points.

After five consecutive home games to start the season, the Raiders will play the next eight games away from Raider Fieldhouse.

This weekend, CCC will take part in the Emerson Classic at Marshalltown Community College in Iowa. The Raiders will meet the host Tigers at 5 p.m. on Friday night, followed by a contest with Des Moines Area Community College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
