Softball: Raiders and Hawks Split Double-Header

The Central Community College softball team split a double-header with Northeast Community College at Raider Field on Tuesday.

In the opener, CCC jumped out to a 5-1 advantage on the strength of three runs in the bottom of the third. Northeast tied the game at 7-7 with three runs in the top of the fourth and the top of the fifth innings. However, it would be the last time the Hawks would score as the Raiders recorded five runs over the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to earn the 12-7 victory. Emma Lees (pictured) scored three runs, including a homerun, and recorded three RBIs. McKinna Moats and Caroline Riffer each logged two runs.

In the nightcap, neither team scored in the first two innings. The Hawks then scored four runs in the top of the third inning which put them ahead for good en route to a 7-3 win. Riffer scored two runs while Moats scored the other.
