Raiders Advance to Region IX Championship

Central Community College logged a 12-2 victory over Southeast Community College in the decisive game 3 in a best-of-three series to advance to the Region IX championship. CCC built a 7-0 lead with a pair of runs in the third inning and five runs in the fifth before SCC got on the board. The Raiders added on five more runs over the sixth and seventh innings while holding the Lady Storm scoreless to earn the victory.

Mackenzie Eller recorded three runs, while Mariah Watchorn and Antonia Rodriguez each scored a pair of runs. Katelyn Keen belted the game's only homerun to go along with five RBIs. Rodriguez tallied three RBIs, Eller totaled two, while Jenna Robinson and Danica Schafer each had one.

CCC pitcher Carsen Nelson (8-16) went the full seven innings to pick up the win, while Ellie Edmond (12-15) took the loss for the Lady Storm.

The Raiders will take on North Platte Community College for the Region IX title in a best-of-three series in North Platte. The first two games will be played on Friday afternoon. If a third game is necessary, it will take place the following day.

The Raiders and the Knights met six times during the regular season with NPCC winning each time. The Knights are 25-23.
