Aquinas Hitter to Swing for CCC

Central Community College has announced the signing of Chloe Miller from Aquinas High School in David City. Miller signed a letter-of-intent on March 23 with her family joining in.

Originally recruited as a hitter, CCC head coach Jack Gutierrez describes Miller as having homerun power and that's only the beginning.

"She's played a lot of first and third base and she pitches a little bit, so it's always good to have an extra pitcher on board," said Gutierrez. "She'll give us four, maybe five pitchers that we'll carry for next year, so that's always a good thing, having somebody that can do more than just hit."

Gutierrez had seen Miller play a few times during her sophomore and junior seasons, but not as much during her senior year. However, CCC infielder Mackenzie Eller, who also played at Aquinas High School, kept tabs on Miller's performance this season and had good reports for Gutierrez.

"Sometimes, our kids are our best recruiters," said Gutierrez.

Miller plans to study engineering. She is the daughter of Jason and Jessica Miller.
