CCC Drops Two at Iowa Western

Iowa Western scored plenty in a double-header win over Central Community College in Council Bluffs on Tuesday. The Reivers won 17-3 in the first game, followed by a 10-2 triumph in game two.

IWCC got off to a quick start in the opener by scoring nine runs in the first inning. The Raiders gave up eight runs over the next four innings for the final outcome. One bright spot for CCC as sophomore Jacy Bretschneider recorded a double late in the game, which continues a great season at the plate. Bretschneider leads the Raiders with a .439 overall batting average, and .512 in league play.

CCC kept close in game two, trailing 3-2 in the fifth inning. But then, the Reivers' bats came alive once again with seven runs in the sixth inning to put the game away.

The Raiders will remain on the road with a double-header on Friday, April 22, at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. Game times are set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
