Raiders Split With Southeast

The Central Community College Raiders and the Southeast Community College Lady Storm split a double-header in Columbus. CCC took the opening game, 12-3, while Southeast triumphed in the closer, 9-0.

In the opener, the Raiders jumped out of the gate with five runs in the first inning, four in the second, and three in the third. Sophomore Jayd Roberts and freshman Maddie Kucera each logged a homerun in the win, which snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Raiders. Kucera also recorded a pair of doubles and five RBIs. In addition to four RBIs, Roberts was the winning pitcher, striking out seven Lady Storm batters in five innings. 

In the nightcap, Southeast returned the favor with a shutout victory. Freshman Brooke Brestel belted the game's only homerun to go along with four RBIs. Lady Storm sophomore pitcher Megan Hartman picked up her eleventh win of the season, pitching the shutout in five innings. Meanwhile, CCC sophomore pitcher Brooke Behnk took the loss.
