Men’s Soccer: Raiders Blast Comets

The Central Community College men's soccer team posted its first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Western Iowa Tech Community College at Raider Field.

The Comets scored the first goal six minutes into the contest when Aran Vivar Hernandez found the back of the net off the assist of Andre Pinheiro. The Raiders evened the score at 1-1 in the 23rd minute when Adam Tourche scored an unassisted goal. With four minutes remaining in the first half, Joseba Zabala scored his first goal of the season with Tourche on the assist. The score remained 2-1 at the half.

The second half was scoreless until the 81st minute when Arlo Stone scored a goal which was set up by Jaime Zani's assist. The score read 3-1, which turned out to be the final.

CCC goalie Jesse Wubs collected four saves.

The Raiders will return to action on Friday when they host Casper College at 5 p.m. at Raider Field.
