Men’s Soccer: CCC and SCC Post Stalemate

The Central Community College-Southeast Community College men's soccer game ended in a 1-1 tie in Beatrice on Wednesday.

SCC's Clayton Cobb put the Storm on the board first with a goal in the 33rd minute with Diego Salas Rojas on the assist for a 1-0 lead. Eight minutes into the second half, CCC's Mark Ackerman found the back of the net with Ivan Lopez assisting to knot the game at one goal apiece. Neither team could score in regulation or overtime and the teams had to settle for a 1-1 tie. CCC goalie Rodolfo Ramirez faced seven shots on goal and tallied six saves.

"Each team controlled the game at one point or another," said CCC head coach Luis Pulido. "(SCC) had some good chances in the first half and we did better than them in the second half. In the overtime, we had some chances that could have sealed the game in our favor but unfortunately, we were not able to find the back of the net."

The deadlock gives the Raiders a 5-5-1 mark.
