Men’s Soccer: Raiders Beat Warriors in OT

Marc Ackerman scored an unassisted goal one minute into overtime to lift the Raiders to a 3-2 victory over the Midland University JV on Thursday.

CCC forced the extra session with about one minute remaining in regulation when Ivan Lopez scored a goal with Chris Izaguirre on the assist to tie the score at 2-2. The Warriors took a 2-1 lead with a pair of goals early in the second half and appeared to be on the way to victory until Lopez scored.

"It was a very competitive game where we found our way back to tie the game and win it in overtime," said CCC head coach Luis Pulido. "It was a good match that helps us prepare for region play next week."

CCC's Yeysen Marino-Chavez scored the games first goal in the 41st minute with Fernando Alves on the assist. Raiders' goalie Rasmus Berg faced seven shots on goal and made five saves.

The win evens CCC's win-loss record at 4-4.

The Raiders will return to action on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. meeting against Hesston College at Raider Field.
