Men’s Soccer: Raiders Shutout Hawks

The Central Community College men's soccer team logged its third shutout of the season with a 4-0 home win over Northeast Community College on Thursday.

The Raiders got on the board five minutes in when Anthony Bolanos found the back of the net off the assist of Jeremiah Vidale for a 1-0 lead. With just under four minutes remaining in the first half, CCC went up 2-0 when Jorge Moncibais recorded an unassisted goal.

The Raiders tacked on another goal with just under 30 minutes to play as Ethan Bonaparte (pictured left) scored a goal with Tychique Kutalu assisting to make the score 3-0. The final CCC goal came in the 70th minute as Luis Tovar booted a goal with Vidale notching his second assist of the day. CCC was able to run out the clock for the 4-0 victory.

"This is one where the team looked really good," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. "All the attackers looked really good and defense kept the shutout intact. This was an important game because it is a big local rivalry. We showed up with a lot of energy and took care of the game."

With the win, The Raiders improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Hawks drop to 1-4.

Up next, CCC will host Sheridan College on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4:30 at the Raider Soccer Complex.
