Men’s Soccer: Cougars Shutout Raiders

The Central Community College men's soccer team was shutout by Western Nebraska Community College, 2-0, at home on Saturday afternoon. The loss gives the Raiders a mark of 6-3-2.

The Cougars scored quickly as Ademiju Oshikoya found the back of the net in the second minute off the assist of Ramses Atahualpa, for the 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later, Atahualpa made it 2-0 lead by scoring a goal with Silvio Xavier providing the assist. WNCC led 2-0 at the half and kept the Raiders at bay for the victory.

CCC goalie Jose Gonzalez made five saves on the afternoon, while WNCC net minder Viktar Kravets also logged five saves.

The Raiders will next play on Wednesday, Sept. 27, against Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CCC defeated the Hawks, 2-0, on August 25 in Columbus.
