Men’s Soccer: Raiders Shutout Northeastern JC

The Central Community College men's soccer team scored three, second-half goals en route to defeating Northeastern Junior College, 3-0, on Friday.

Following a scoreless first half, CCC captain Marcus Horwood scored the game's first goal five minutes into the second half off the assist of Jose Gonzalez, for a 1-0 lead. In the 75th minute, Peterson Costa scored a goal to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead, with Riolan Moradillo Mello making the assist. The scoring was capped 10 minutes later when Mello found the back of the net as Henrique Lucas provided the assist, giving CCC the 3-0 victory.

CCC net minder Jose Gonzalez logged three saves as did Northeastern goalie Clement May.

The win gives the Raiders a mark of 6-2-2 heading into Saturday's home game against the Cougars of Western Nebraska Community College.
