Men’s Basketball: CCC Closes Out Regular Season

The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated Southeast Community College, 73-67, on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.

The Raiders built a 41-28 halftime lead before the Bobcats battled back in the second half by outscoring CCC, 39-32. However, time ran out and the Raiders left town with the win.

"I'm proud that we made enough plays down the stretch to get the win, but I really don't think we played well offensively throughout most of the game," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "The ball didn't move like it does when we are really playing well. I thought we made the game a lot harder on ourselves than it had to be."

Aidan Graham and Kazadi Mukoma Jr. each scored 14 points to lead the CCC offensive attack. Blake Daberkow scored a dozen points while Maal Jal finished with 11 points.

The win gives the Raiders a final regular season mark of 17-11.

The Raiders and Bobcats will meet again for the Region 9 tournament title on Saturday at the Raider Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
