Men’s Basketball: Raiders Defeather Hawks

The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated Northeast Community College, 94-76, on Tuesday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The contest was close through the first 12 minutes as the Hawks took a 25-24 lead on Vincent Garrett's layup. The Raiders responded with a 24-3 run over the final eight minutes to take a 48-28 halftime lead. Northeast was able to pull to within 10 points, 51-41, over the first three minutes of the second half, but that's as close as it got as CCC went on to post the 18-point win.

Blake Daberkow (pictured #32) led all scorers with 22 points while Frank Keller added 20 points. PJ Davis rounded out the double-digit scoring with 18 points.

"Blake played with more energy and was really good," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "Frank continues to play well, and PJ has been steady. I am also real proud of Ethan Wiley, who stepped up into a lot of minutes (26) and played well."

The win gives the Raiders a 7-3 mark heading into this weekend's Southeast Community College Holiday Classic in Lincoln. On Friday, CCC will take on Highland (Kan.) Community College at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the Raiders will meet Allen County (Kan.) Community College at 2 p.m.
