Men’s Basketball: Raiders Run Past Indians

The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated McCook Community College, 93-85, on Tuesday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The game began close as the teams were tied at 16-16 midway through the first half. That's when McCook took off on a 18-9 run to take a 37-25 lead with just over five minutes before halftime. The Raiders responded with a 13-6 blast to trail 43-38 at the half.

Much like the first half, the teams were close for the nine minutes of the second half as the score was tied at 61 apiece at the 10:55 mark. CCC's Aidan Graham scored a three-point bucket which put the Raiders ahead for good. The Indians were able to pull to within one point with 89 seconds to play, but it would be the last time McCook would score and the Raiders posted the eight-point victory.

PJ Davis led four CCC players in double figures with 25 points while Blake Daberkow scored 22 points. Graham finished with 17 points and Frank Keller added 12 points.

"After a disappointing first half defensively, I thought we really toughened up in the second half," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "We rebounded better and played better one-on-one defense."
