Men’s Basketball: Raiders Ground Hawks

The Central Community College men's basketball team upended Northeast Community College at Raider Fieldhouse on Wednesday night, 85-60.

The Raiders jumped out to a big lead and never looked back as they led 37-25 at halftime. CCC built a 20-point lead early in the second half and cruised to the victory. However, CCC head coach John Ritzdorf was hesitant to call it an "easy victory."

"I don't know if it's ever easy," said Ritzdorf. "I think our defensive effort made it look that way. We played hard and we did a great job on their best player, Emmette Page, who is supper talented. He only had 10 points."

A pair of CCC players sported double-doubles. Nathan Frost had 23 points and 12 rebounds, While Roman Behrens had 22 points and 10 assists.

The win was the fourth consecutive for the Raiders, who are 17-10 on the season.

Up next, CCC will try to get revenge on Southeast Community College following a 91-88 loss to the Storm last month. Saturday's tip is set for 4 p.m. in Beatrice.
