Men’s Basketball: CCC Falls In OT

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost in overtime to Southeast Community College, 91-88, at Raider Fieldhouse on Friday night.

CCC led by as many at 16 points in the first half before SCC rattled off a 32-11 run to lead 44-39 at halftime. The second half was close throughout and with under a minute to go in regulation, the Raiders were up 80-78 when the Storm's Labeck Warren tied the game at 80 with two free throws. CCC's Tre'vion Crawford missed a three-point bucket with 25 seconds, while SCC's Bo Russell missed a game-winning shot with two seconds, forcing overtime.

In the extra session, the Storm built a 90-85 lead with under a minute play when Crawford nailed his fifth three-point basket of the game to pull the Raiders to within two, 90-88. CCC had one shot left to send the game into a second overtime when the Storm missed a free throw with 3.9 seconds to play. However, CCC's Roman Behren's missed a game-tying three-point shot at the buzzer.

"I'm proud of how we came back. I'm proud of how we adjusted, but overall we just made too many mistakes," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf.

Tre Mikkelsen led the Raiders with 26 points, while Crawford totaled 23 points. Behrens logged a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while John Glover rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

The loss is the second straight for CCC, which is now 13-10 on the season.

The Raiders are on the road Tuesday night for a meeting with York College JV. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
