Central Community College men's basketball is pleased to announce the signing of shooting guard Delrico Simms, a graduate of National Collegiate Preparatory Public Charter High School in Washington, D.C.

Simms averaged 23.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 25 games and was named Player of the Year for the Panthers. He also received First Team All-Charter League and Second Team All-State honors.

"I'm excited to be at Central and I'm looking forward to moving there in August," said Simms. "When Coach Drymon said that he needed me, I was 100 percent committed to coming out there."

Simms also played for Metroball DC, an AAU club team, and one of his coaches on the team told him about CCC.

"Delrico is a big time shooter," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "He fills a gap that we really need. He has a quick release and can shoot the ball with range. Delrico has the ability to be one of the nation's best three-point shooters."

Simms plans on majoring in nursing and business at CCC. He is the son of Wanda Simms.
