Men’s Basketball: IWCC Beats CCC

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost at Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday night to visiting Iowa Western Community College, 88-65.

The Raiders played tough in the first half and led 39-35 over the Reivers. However, IWCC picked up steam in the second half and outscored CCC, 53-26. On the night, the Reivers outrebounded the Raiders, 52-30.

Malik Mooving (pictured) was the only CCC player to record double figures as he logged 31 points. On the other side, Jevon Smith scored 25 points to lead five IWCC players in double figures.

The loss drops the Raiders to 10-13 on the season.

CCC will be back in action on Friday night with a meeting against North Platte Community College. The Raiders will take part in Coaches Powering Forward for Autism. During the game, Raiders head coach Jerry Drymon and his staff will war the official Autism Speaks blue puzzle piece to raise awareness and acceptance of autism spectrum disorders. Children, youth and adults with autism, along with their families and friends, are invited to participate. Tip-off is set or 7:30 p.m.
